Q: Will any other services or organisations know I’m in treatment for drugs?
A: No, unless Social Services needs information regarding a child protection issue or if your behaviour puts you or someone else in danger. We do not disclose details to any other organisation.
Q: Do you only treat people who use Heroin?
A: No. We treat people for any substance which has become problematic. We see people with a wide range of issues – from co-codamol to cannabis.
Q: If I am on a methadone script will I have to attend the project every day?
A: No. Once you are stable and providing negative urine tests, you can apply for a take-out regime. This means you come in on set days only which can help when you get employment.
Q: Can I still access treatment even if I’m homeless?
A: Yes. As long as you have proof that you are receiving benefits in our area, we take on people who have no fixed abode. Once you are in treatment, we can help you find accommodation.
Q: Can I still drive if I am on a methadone script?
A: It is your responsibility to inform the DVLA that you are on medication. They will then give you all the relevant information.
Q: Can you help me get back into sport?
A: Yes. Our diversionary activities co-ordinator can work with you to do this.
Q: Can my family come with me to treatment sessions?
A: Yes. As long as it is ok with you, having your family or partner involved in your treatment can improve your chances of success.
Q: I had a lot of problems in my childhood. Is there anyone I can speak to about this?
A: Yes. We have our own fully qualified counsellor who can help you with this.
Q: Does my GP have to refer me into treatment.
A: GPs can refer you into treatment, but you can also self-refer.
Q: Can you help me to look for work once I’m stable?
A: Yes - we have a Progress To Work representative who sees people at the project once a week.
