“Rebuilding lives, giving people hope and opportunity. That's what we're about. We believe passionately in that.“

The Home Secretary was on the ground with our Dyfodol Swansea teams and clients, to understand more about our work and hear our service user’s inspiring stories.

She said; “Rebuilding lives, giving people hope & opportunity. That’s what we’re about. We believe passionately in that, which is why we’re investing significant sums in Project ADDER.”

In an effort to cut drug related crime the Government has introduced a £148 million package. The system wide approach will increase funding for drug treatment and recovery to help break the cycle of substance misuse and offending.

She continued; “I had the privilege today to meet various individuals that have been addicted to drugs, but who are also being supported by some great partnership work, some local work, local providers, helping to turn people’s lives around. And importantly, it will help to prevent the loss of life through drug abuse and drug addiction. But at the same time it will absolutely give people a new journey, a new pathway out of addiction, into a normal life. getting back into employment, getting a home, settling back down with their families. Many of these individuals have lost their ties with their families.”
