On 21st October, Kaleidoscope’s Newport recovery hub volunteers attended a celebration of volunteering in Newport organised by GAVO at Rodney Parade.
Our volunteers had been nominated by Rondine Molinaro in the ‘Contribution to the Community’ category for their tireless efforts supporting the recovery community in Newport.
Steve Masterman, Robert Howe and Dominic Hard regularly put in over 35 hours of volunteering per week at the hub and have set up a pioneering recovery space that offers a wide range of skills-based activities, mutual aid groups and evening and week end social activities including quiz nights and rugby world cup matches.
The Hub volunteers were announced the winners from amongst a large number of other charitable groups and worthwhile causes who were also nominated in this category.
We are immensely proud of the hub volunteers for all their contributions to this project, and feel honoured to be able to work with people like Steve, Rob and Dom. We are looking forward to our continued partnership with the hub and are looking forward to the opening of the new, larger hub premises.
